The location, initially encompassed by the Thomas Burbridge survey, witnessed its first settlers around 1873, coinciding with the establishment of the Lyndale post office, helmed by postmaster John M. Davis. The following year marked a shift in spelling to “Lindale,” and in 1875, the community evolved into a station along the recently established International-Great Northern Railroad.
